Western star Lodge #9 history

Western Star Lodge #9 History

Western Star Lodge #9 was originally chartered as Rhea Lodge in Port Royal, TN on May 1, 1812. Chartered by the Grand Lodge of North Carolina & Tennessee, the lodge served as the home lodge for Master Masons throughout the entire northern Middle Tennessee area. Later that same year, the lodge was ordered to relocate to Springfield, TN to establish and support the newly mandated county seat. The lodge was renamed Western Star #61. In 1813, Western Star became one of the charter lodges that came together to form the Grand Lodge of TN and in 1814 subsequently received their new charter as Western Star Lodge #9.

Western Star proudly served the Robertson County area for 213 years.

In 2025, Western Star Lodge #9 voted to consolidate with Goodlettsville Lodge #271 subsequently becoming Goodlettsville Lodge #9..
